Perrier-Jouët Belle Époque is the Maison’s iconic prestige vintage cuvée, recognized for its floral character, precision, and graceful expression of Champagne. The 2016 release brings together Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs with Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims, delivering a refined, beautifully balanced style with freshness, texture, and mineral definition.
Blend: 50% Chardonnay, 45% Pinot Noir, 5% Meunier.
Tasting Notes: Delicate white flowers lead into white peach, poached pear, grapefruit, and lemon zest, with accents of wildflower honey, jasmine, sliced almond, and subtle spice. The palate is silky and creamy, framed by fine bubbles, fresh acidity, and a chalky mineral character that carries through the elegant finish.
Structure: Elegant and finely textured, with bright acidity, creamy mousse, precise minerality, and excellent balance.
Drink Window: Enjoy now through approximately 2038, with continued development expected from well-cellared bottles.
Decanting: No traditional decanting is necessary. Serve at approximately 48–52°F for an aperitif, or slightly warmer with food, and allow several minutes in the glass for the wine’s floral and mineral nuances to open. Perrier-Jouët recommends 8–10°C as an aperitif and around 12°C with a meal.
Belle Époque 2016 offers the refinement expected of prestige Champagne with enough texture and depth to move effortlessly from aperitif to the dining table. Its distinctive floral character, elegant presentation, and cellar potential make it particularly appealing for celebrations, gifting, or adding a polished vintage Champagne to a serious collection.
