Amaury Beaufort represents a new generation of grower Champagne, working from the family’s vineyards in Polisy in the Aube’s Côte des Bar. Le Jardinot is a Brut Nature cuvée with the vinous, terroir-driven character associated with this southern sector of Champagne, pairing ripe fruit with savory detail and the tension of zero dosage.
Blend: Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
Tasting Notes: Crisp apple, pear and citrus peel lead into white flowers, subtle red-fruit nuances and notes of fresh bread and chalk. The palate is dry and energetic, with orchard fruit, lemon zest and a gently savory character carried through a firm, mineral finish.
Structure: Taut and vinous, with fine bubbles and bright acidity giving shape to a textured core of fruit. The absence of dosage keeps the finish particularly dry and precise, emphasizing freshness and mineral definition.
Drink Window: Now–2029. This release is well suited to drinking now for its freshness and tension, though short-term cellaring should allow its fruit and savory elements to integrate further.
Decanting: No decanting is necessary. Serve around 46–50°F in a white-wine or tulip-shaped Champagne glass rather than an overly narrow flute, allowing a few minutes for the wine to open and gain aromatic dimension.
Le Jardinot is a compelling choice for drinkers who prefer Champagne on the dry, vinous and terroir-focused end of the spectrum. Its combination of ripe Côte des Bar fruit and Brut Nature precision makes it particularly versatile with oysters, crudo, shellfish, roast fish and lighter poultry dishes, while remaining distinctive enough to serve on its own.
