From one of the most revered crus in Monforte d’Alba, Sorì Ginestra represents the flagship Barolo of Conterno Fantino. The Ginestra MGA is widely considered among the grand sites of Barolo, producing wines of depth, power, and remarkable longevity thanks to its calcareous clay soils and optimal southwest exposure. The 2021 vintage—defined by balance, precision, and superb phenolic ripeness—has already been recognized as one of the standout harvests of the decade, and Sorì Ginestra captures the vintage’s concentration and elegance in equal measure.
Blend: 100% Nebbiolo.
Tasting Notes: Intensely aromatic, the wine opens with rose petal, red cherry, wild strawberry, and blood orange layered with licorice, crushed herbs, and hints of graphite and spice. The palate is structured yet finely sculpted, revealing vibrant red fruit, mineral tension, and savory complexity. Silky but persistent tannins carry through a long, lifted finish marked by floral and spice nuances.
Structure: Powerful, precise, and deeply age-worthy.
Drink Window: 2027–2048.
Decanting: In its youth, decant for 2–3 hours to allow the wine’s aromatics and structure to fully open. Extended cellaring will further integrate the tannins and deepen complexity.
Sorì Ginestra stands among the defining expressions of the Monforte style—combining depth, intensity, and refinement from one of Barolo’s most celebrated vineyards. In strong vintages like 2021, it represents a serious collector’s Barolo with decades of evolution ahead.
