Paul Hobbs has long been recognized for crafting site-driven wines that balance California richness with precision and structure. His Russian River Valley Chardonnay is sourced from select vineyards influenced by the region’s signature coastal fog and Goldridge soils, conditions that favor slow ripening and vibrant acidity. The 2022 vintage produced beautifully balanced fruit, resulting in a Chardonnay that combines layered texture with freshness and mineral detail.

Blend: 100% Chardonnay.

Tasting Notes: Aromas of ripe pear, golden apple, and Meyer lemon unfold alongside notes of toasted hazelnut, vanilla, and subtle baking spice from careful oak aging. The palate is rich yet focused, offering flavors of citrus curd, stone fruit, and brioche layered with a hint of wet stone and a long, refined finish.

Structure: Rich, polished, and balanced with vibrant acidity.

Drink Window: 2024–2032.

Decanting: Not required, though allowing the wine 10–15 minutes in the glass will help reveal its full aromatic complexity.

This Russian River Valley Chardonnay exemplifies Paul Hobbs’ meticulous approach—delivering both depth and precision. Equally suited to the cellar or the table, it pairs beautifully with seafood, roasted poultry, and creamy dishes where its richness and freshness can shine.
