Château de Tracy draws on some of its older Sauvignon Blanc vines and two defining Pouilly-Fumé terroirs: limestone and Kimmeridgian marl, which contribute texture, alongside flint-rich soils associated with mineral depth and salinity. The 2023 is a particularly expressive rendition, combining ripe citrus fruit with the smoky, mineral character long associated with the appellation.
Blend: 100% Sauvignon Blanc.
Tasting Notes: Grapefruit, lime and white fruit lead the aromatics, joined by floral and lightly herbal notes and a distinctive smoky-mineral edge. The palate is fresh and mouthwatering yet generous in texture, with citrus zest, subtle savory complexity and a long, delicately saline finish.
Structure: Bright acidity gives the wine precision and momentum, balanced by an ample, textured mid-palate. Mineral tension and a slight citrus-pith grip bring definition to the finish.
Drink Window: 2026–2030. Already drinking well for its freshness and aromatic clarity, with sufficient concentration and acidity to develop additional savory complexity over the next several years.
Decanting: No extended decanting is needed. Serve around 48–52°F and allow 10–15 minutes in the glass for its citrus, herbal and mineral dimensions to open.
This is a gastronomic Pouilly-Fumé with enough substance for the table while retaining the freshness and precision that make Loire Sauvignon Blanc so compelling. An excellent match for oysters, shellfish, grilled fish, goat cheese or simply as a polished aperitif.
