Baron de L is the prestige cuvée of Ladoucette, produced only in select years from the first pressing of estate Sauvignon Blanc. Sourced from the Pouilly-Fumé appellation at the eastern end of the Loire Valley, around Château du Nozet and the villages of Pouilly-sur-Loire, Saint-Andelain, and Tracy-sur-Loire, it reflects the region’s classic clay-limestone profile with notable precision and aromatic purity.
Blend: 100% Sauvignon Blanc.
Tasting Notes: Refined aromas of white flowers, citrus peel, gooseberry, exotic fruit, and crushed stone rise from the glass with polished clarity. The palate is bright and finely cut, showing ripe tropical accents of lychee and mango alongside lemon zest, mineral tension, and a long, elegant finish shaped by freshness rather than oak influence.
Structure: Concentrated, precise, and mineral-driven, with elegant richness and firm Loire acidity.
Drink Window: 2025–2033.
Decanting: Serve well chilled, ideally around 48–52°F. In its youth, allow 15–20 minutes in the glass or a brief decant to let the aromatics unfold; older bottles should be opened shortly before service to preserve freshness.
Baron de L brings a quietly luxurious feel to the table, with the freshness to pair beautifully alongside oysters, shellfish, delicate fish, goat cheese, or citrus-led dishes. Its balance of mineral precision, polished fruit, and graceful aging potential makes it an exceptional bottle for elegant entertaining now or thoughtful cellaring over the next several years.
