Turley’s Bechthold Vineyard Cinsault comes from one of California’s most historically significant old-vine sites, located in Lodi’s Mokelumne River area. Planted in the late 19th century, the vineyard is head-trained, dry-farmed, ungrafted, and rooted in sandy loam soils, producing a lighter-bodied red with freshness, perfume, and striking vineyard character.
Blend: 100% Cinsault.
Tasting Notes: Lifted aromas of violets, ripe red plum, raspberry, and a subtle touch of nougat lead into a graceful, finely textured palate. Bright red fruit, gentle spice, and lively acidity give the wine a poised, almost Pinot-like elegance, with freshness and balance carrying through the finish.
Structure: Light-bodied, fresh, graceful, and finely balanced.
Drink Window: 2025–2031.
Decanting: Serve slightly cool, around 50–55°F. A brief 15–20 minute decant is sufficient in youth, primarily to let the aromatics open; extended decanting is unnecessary for this delicate, perfume-driven style.
A distinctive choice for collectors and enthusiasts of California heritage vineyards, this bottle offers refinement without heaviness. It is especially well suited to roast poultry, charcuterie, herb-driven dishes, or a holiday table where elegance and freshness are as important as depth.
