Veuve Clicquot Rosé builds on the Pinot Noir-led character of the house’s Yellow Label Brut, adding a carefully selected proportion of still red wine to bring greater fruit depth and a distinctive rosé profile. Produced by the historic Reims-based Champagne house, it balances expressive red-berry fruit with the freshness, structure and subtle brioche complexity associated with Veuve Clicquot’s signature style.
Blend: Approximately 50% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay and 20% Meunier, including a proportion of still red wine made from Pinot Noir. Exact proportions vary by release.
Tasting Notes: Wild strawberry, raspberry and red cherry are complemented by rose petals, ripe pear and a delicate note of toasted brioche. The palate is generous and finely textured, with vibrant red fruit, a creamy mousse and refreshing acidity leading to a gently savory, persistent finish.
Structure: Medium-bodied and expressive, with Pinot Noir providing depth and vinous structure, Chardonnay maintaining freshness and Meunier contributing roundness. The red-wine component adds fruit concentration and texture without compromising the Champagne’s lively balance.
Drink Window: Now–2029. Crafted for enjoyment upon release, Veuve Clicquot Rosé is particularly appealing while its red-fruit aromatics and freshness are vibrant. Short-term cellaring may introduce additional savory and toasted complexity, though extended aging is unnecessary.
Decanting: Do not decant. Serve around 46–50°F in a tulip-shaped Champagne or white-wine glass, allowing the wine a few minutes to reveal its red-fruit aromatics and layered texture.
Veuve Clicquot Rosé offers a fruit-driven yet structured expression of rosé Champagne, making it a natural choice for celebrations, gifting and occasions that call for something beyond a traditional Brut. Its combination of freshness and red-berry depth also makes it especially versatile with smoked salmon, tuna, duck, charcuterie or berry-based desserts that are not overly sweet.
