Wither Hills draws on vineyards across Marlborough’s Wairau Valley, bringing together the region’s bright fruit profile with the freshness and herbal detail characteristic of Sauvignon Blanc. The 2023 is an energetic, approachable expression, built around citrus, tropical fruit and a clean, dry finish.
Blend: 100% Sauvignon Blanc.
Tasting Notes: Passion fruit, grapefruit and lime lead the aromatics, complemented by green apple, fresh herbs and subtle tropical notes. The palate is crisp and juicy, with citrus and ripe fruit carried by refreshing acidity toward a clean, lightly mineral finish.
Structure: Light to medium-bodied, dry and lively, with bright acidity providing definition. Generous fruit through the mid-palate is balanced by citrus and herbal freshness on the finish.
Drink Window: Now–2027. At four years from vintage, this is best enjoyed now for its freshness and fruit-driven character rather than held for extended cellaring.
Decanting: No decanting is necessary. Serve well chilled but not icy, allowing a few minutes in the glass for the wine’s citrus, tropical and herbal aromatics to emerge.
A versatile Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc with the freshness for an aperitif and enough flavor for the table. Its crisp citrus and vibrant fruit make it an easy match for oysters, shellfish, grilled fish, fresh salads, goat cheese and herb-driven dishes.
