Domaine Georges Noëllat is one of Vosne-Romanée’s most sought-after domaines, with important holdings across some of the village’s most distinguished Premier and Grand Cru vineyards. “Les Beaux Monts” is a particularly compelling site, combining Vosne’s signature perfume and silky texture with pronounced mineral energy; in 2012, the wine showed both richness and refinement from the outset.
Blend: 100% Pinot Noir.
Tasting Notes: Fragrant red and dark berries lead into raspberry, floral notes, exotic spice and a restrained touch of oak. With bottle age, the wine develops savory complexity, sous-bois and gentle earthy nuances while retaining silky fruit, freshness and a fine mineral core.
Structure: Silky, refined and mineral-driven, with polished tannins, excellent freshness and the depth expected of a serious Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru.
Drink Window: Drink now through 2038. The magnum format should support a slower, more graceful evolution than a standard bottle, preserving freshness and aromatic detail over a longer period.
Decanting: Stand the magnum upright in advance if possible, then decant gently for approximately 45–60 minutes. At this stage, the goal is to separate any sediment and allow the wine to open gradually without overexposing mature Pinot Noir to air.
In magnum, the 2012 Les Beaux Monts is especially attractive for collectors and special-occasion drinking. The larger format enhances its cellar appeal and gives this already refined Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru additional longevity, making it a compelling centerpiece for an important dinner or a serious Burgundy collection.
