2015 Chateau Mouton Rothschild, Pauillac, Bordeaux - 750ml

95–97 Point Vintage (vintage consensus: a powerful, structured, and highly successful Left Bank vintage marked by concentration, ripe tannins, and classic Pauillac depth).

Château Mouton Rothschild stands as Pauillac’s First Growth icon, renowned for its commanding Cabernet Sauvignon profile and its tradition of artist-designed labels. The 2015 vintage delivered a wine of depth and authority, combining the warmth of the growing season with refined structure and aromatic precision — a confident modern expression of the estate.

Blend: Predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot (classic estate composition).

Tasting Notes: The nose is intense and layered, revealing blackcurrant, dark plum, and ripe blackberry intertwined with graphite, cigar box, cedar, and subtle spice. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and expansive, offering cassis, black cherry, cocoa, and fine oak integration. The tannins are firm yet polished, framing a dense core of fruit while maintaining freshness and lift through a long, structured finish.

Structure: Powerful, concentrated, and classically structured with substantial aging capacity.

Drink Window: 2025–2060+

Decanting: If opened in its youth, decant 3–4 hours to allow the structure to soften and the aromatics to fully develop. As the wine matures, a shorter decant to remove sediment will suffice.

The 2015 Mouton Rothschild is a commanding Pauillac — rich, architectural, and unmistakably First Growth in presence. A cornerstone for serious collectors, it offers both near-term gravitas with proper aeration and decades of confident evolution in the cellar.
