2019 Chateau Giscours, Margaux, Bordeaux - 750ml

96–98 Point Vintage (vintage consensus: a refined, harmonious Bordeaux vintage delivering ripe fruit concentration balanced by freshness and precision, with excellent performance in Margaux).

Château Giscours, a historic Third Growth estate, continues to refine its style toward greater clarity and precision while preserving its signature depth. In 2019, the château produced a Margaux of both generosity and definition — capturing the warmth of the vintage while maintaining aromatic lift and structural balance.

Blend: Predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot and small portions of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot (classic Margaux composition).

Tasting Notes: The nose opens with blackcurrant, dark cherry, and ripe blackberry layered with violet, cedar, and subtle graphite. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, offering cassis, plum, cocoa, and fine spice. The tannins are polished and well-integrated, supporting a concentrated fruit core while freshness provides lift and precision through a long, floral-tinged finish.

Structure: Balanced and refined, with ripe tannins and classic Margaux elegance.

Drink Window: 2025–2045+

Decanting: If opened in its youth, decant 1–2 hours to allow the aromatics to expand and the structure to soften. The wine responds well to moderate aeration.

The 2019 Giscours is a polished, modern Margaux that combines approachability with structure. A confident addition for collectors and an elegant choice for the table, it reflects both the estate’s upward trajectory and the success of the vintage.
