Product Details
Brand: David Duband
From one of the Côte de Nuits’ most historic Grand Cru vineyards, David Duband’s 2019 Clos de Vougeot delivers the depth and authority expected from the appellation while retaining the domaine’s refined, energetic style. The ripe 2019 vintage gives the wine generous fruit and texture, balanced by freshness, savory complexity, and a firm mineral backbone.
Blend: 100% Pinot Noir.
Tasting Notes: Aromas of dark cherry, raspberry, wild strawberry, violet, warm spice, and subtle woodland tones emerge with air, accompanied by hints of smoke and earth. The palate is concentrated yet polished, with ripe red and black fruit framed by fine tannins, fresh acidity, and a savory mineral character that carries through a long, structured finish.
Structure: Full, refined, and age-worthy, with substantial depth, firm but polished tannins, and impressive freshness.
Drink Window: 2026–2045
Decanting: If opened now, decant for approximately 60–90 minutes to allow the fruit and savory complexity to unfold. With additional bottle age, a shorter period of aeration should be sufficient.
For the collector or Burgundy enthusiast, this is a serious Grand Cru with the stature for long-term cellaring yet enough fruit and polish to reward an earlier opening with proper air. It is particularly well suited to an important dinner or special occasion, pairing beautifully with roast duck, game birds, beef, or other richly flavored dishes where its depth and freshness can fully express themselves.
