2020 Chateau Tour Saint Christophe, Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, Bordeaux - 750ml

95–97 Point Vintage (vintage consensus: a concentrated, precise, and exceptionally well-balanced Bordeaux vintage combining ripe fruit intensity with freshness and structural clarity).

Perched on the limestone slopes of Saint-Émilion, Château Tour Saint Christophe has quickly established itself as one of the appellation’s modern standouts, marrying terraced hillside vineyards with meticulous winemaking. The 2020 vintage captures both the density of the year and the mineral tension of its limestone terroir, delivering a wine of depth, polish, and striking precision.

Blend: Predominantly Merlot with Cabernet Franc (typical estate composition).

Tasting Notes: The nose opens with ripe black cherry, plum, and cassis layered with crushed stone, violet, and subtle espresso. On the palate, the wine is rich yet controlled, offering dark berry compote, graphite, cocoa, and fine spice. The limestone influence brings a distinct mineral edge and lift, balancing the ripe fruit core and driving a long, structured finish.

Structure: Concentrated and age-worthy with firm, fine-grained tannins and vibrant underlying freshness.

Drink Window: 2026–2045+

Decanting: If opened in its youth, decant 2–4 hours to allow the tannins to soften and the aromatics to fully expand. The wine benefits from air and gains complexity over the course of service.

The 2020 Tour Saint Christophe represents a compelling modern Saint-Émilion — polished yet terroir-driven, generous yet structured. For collectors seeking value relative to the appellation’s most prestigious names, it offers both near-term appeal and confident long-term cellaring potential.
