From Domaine Jean Féry’s certified-organic vineyards, Abbaye de Morgeot is a broad, expressive white Premier Cru from the southern reaches of Chassagne-Montrachet. The generous 2022 vintage brings concentration and ripe fruit, while the wine retains the freshness and definition expected of fine Côte de Beaune Chardonnay.
Blend: 100% Chardonnay.
Tasting Notes: Ripe pear, white peach and preserved lemon emerge alongside hawthorn blossom, toasted almond and restrained baking spice. The palate is layered and creamy without feeling heavy, carrying orchard fruit, citrus oil and subtle oak toward a long, mineral-edged finish.
Structure: Full-bodied, concentrated and finely defined, with polished texture and cellar-worthy balance.
Drink Window: 2026–2036.
Decanting: When opened young, allow 30 minutes in the bottle or give the wine a brief 15–20 minute decant. Avoid prolonged aeration; serve lightly chilled at approximately 12–13°C and let the wine develop gradually in the glass.
A compelling choice for collectors seeking a richly textured yet composed expression of Chassagne-Montrachet. It will bring distinction to a table alongside lobster, turbot or roasted poultry, while its depth and structure make it equally rewarding as a special bottle to cellar, gift or reserve for an important occasion.
