Domaine Rapet Père & Fils is a longstanding family estate based near the hill of Corton, with deep roots in Pernand-Vergelesses and the surrounding Côte de Beaune. “Les Combottes” is a village-level Chardonnay that captures the appellation’s naturally fresh, mineral style, with the ripe fruit and generosity of the 2022 vintage giving the wine additional breadth without sacrificing precision.
Blend: 100% Chardonnay.
Tasting Notes: Bright and finely detailed, with green apple, citrus zest and white flowers layered with subtle stone fruit, gentle spice and a faint flinty character. The palate is fresh and lively, showing a graceful combination of ripe fruit, mineral tension and restrained creaminess, finishing clean and persistent.
Structure: Medium-bodied, fresh and elegant, with lively acidity, fine mineral definition and polished texture.
Drink Window: Drink now through 2032. The Wine Advocate describes the 2022 as immediately charming and fine-boned, while the wine’s balance and acidity should allow it to develop gracefully over the coming years.
Decanting: No extended decanting is necessary. Serve around 50–54°F and allow 15–30 minutes in a Burgundy or generous white-wine glass for the citrus, floral and mineral nuances to become more expressive.
This is an appealing white Burgundy for the drinker who values freshness and terroir definition over overt richness. Its combination of Chardonnay fruit, mineral lift and understated complexity makes it particularly well suited to shellfish, grilled fish, roast poultry or creamy cheeses, while its balance gives it enough substance for short- to medium-term cellaring.
