2023 Ornellaia, "Poggio alle Gazze", Tuscany, Italy - 750ml

92–94 Point Vintage (vintage consensus: 2023 in Bolgheri delivered freshness and aromatic precision despite a warm growing season, with attentive vineyard management preserving balance and energy).

From the coastal vineyards of Ornellaia in Bolgheri, Poggio alle Gazze expresses the estate’s white wine vision with clarity and finesse. Crafted primarily from Sauvignon Blanc grown in the estate’s maritime-influenced soils, the 2023 captures the brightness and saline lift that define top-tier Bolgheri whites in a warm yet carefully managed vintage.

Blend: Predominantly Sauvignon Blanc, with small proportions of Vermentino, Viognier, and Verdicchio.

Tasting Notes: Aromas of white peach, citrus blossom, and fresh-cut herbs lead into layers of grapefruit zest, green apple, and subtle tropical nuances. A gentle touch of oak adds texture and breadth without masking the wine’s natural vibrancy. The palate is crisp and focused, finishing with mineral tension and a clean, coastal salinity.

Structure: Bright and linear with refreshing acidity; elegant and precise rather than opulent.

Drink Window: 2025–2032

Decanting: No extended decanting required. Serve chilled and allow 10–15 minutes in the glass to reveal aromatic complexity.

Poggio alle Gazze 2023 offers both immediacy and cellar-worthy finesse, making it an ideal addition for collectors who appreciate precision-driven whites alongside their Bolgheri reds. Equally at home in a serious cellar or on a refined dining table, it delivers sophistication with effortless drinkability.
