Domaine Dupont-Fahn’s Chaumes des Perrières is a particularly interesting Bourgogne Blanc, sourced from a parcel in Meursault near the celebrated Perrières vineyards. The 2023 vintage brings a generous expression of Chardonnay, with ripe orchard fruit and a supple texture balanced by the mineral definition associated with this part of the Côte de Beaune.
Blend: 100% Chardonnay.
Tasting Notes: Ripe pear, golden apple and white peach lead into acacia blossom, toasted almond and a restrained buttery note. The palate is rounded and expressive, with gentle richness, fresh acidity and a chalky, lightly savory finish that keeps the fruit in focus.
Structure: Medium-bodied, with the breadth and texture associated with Meursault Chardonnay, balanced by sufficient acidity to maintain freshness. The wine offers richness without excessive weight, with a mineral thread providing definition through the finish.
Drink Window: 2026–2032. Already approachable for its ripe fruit and supple texture, the 2023 should gain additional integration and subtle nutty complexity over the next several years.
Decanting: No extended decanting is necessary. Serve around 50–54°F in a white Burgundy glass, allowing 15–20 minutes for the wine to open naturally and reveal its texture.
Chaumes des Perrières offers an appealing opportunity to explore Chardonnay from the Meursault area without stepping into the village or Premier Cru price categories. Its combination of orchard fruit, gentle richness and mineral freshness makes it a versatile choice for scallops, roast chicken, turbot or mushroom risotto.
