Domaine Louis Robin is based in Chichée, just southeast of Chablis, with the family’s roots in the region extending back to the 19th century. Vosgros gives this Premier Cru a particularly appealing balance of generosity and mineral definition, and the 2024 shows enough breadth to be expressive young while retaining the freshness expected of Chablis.
Blend: 100% Chardonnay.
Tasting Notes: White peach and mirabelle lead into acacia and a restrained floral-honey note, with flinty and stony nuances bringing contrast. The palate opens with a rounded, generous texture before tightening through the mid-palate, finishing fresh and mineral with good persistence.
Structure: Medium-bodied, combining a supple opening with bright acidity and a more incisive mineral finish. Vosgros has enough breadth to avoid austerity, while the 2024 retains the freshness and definition necessary for short- to medium-term development.
Drink Window: 2026–2033. The wine is already approachable for its youthful fruit and texture, but another year or two should bring greater integration and allow its mineral character to become more prominent.
Decanting: No extended decanting is necessary. Serve around 48–52°F in a white-wine or modest Burgundy glass; if opened very young, 15–20 minutes in the glass should be sufficient for the aromatics to expand.
The 2024 Vosgros is a strong choice for drinkers looking beyond village Chablis toward greater texture and site expression without sacrificing freshness. Its combination of ripe fruit and mineral drive makes it particularly versatile with sole, scallops, shellfish, escargots or simply prepared poultry.
