Collection: Rabbit Hole Amburana Founder’s Collection is an exceptionally limited 12 Year Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey finished in new Brazilian Amburana oak barrels and bottled at cask strength at 125.4 proof (62.7% ABV). Part of Rabbit Hole’s prestigious Founder’s Collection, the release was produced in just 1,299 bottles and earned 90 points from Whisky Advocate, which praised its flavorful, assertive character and pronounced Amburana influence.

Producer: Rabbit Hole Distillery in Louisville, Kentucky, was founded by Kaveh Zamanian with an emphasis on unconventional grain recipes, creative maturation, and modern interpretations of American whiskey. For this expression, a 12-year-old bourbon with a mash bill of 78% corn, 10% rye, and 12% malted barley was finished in new Amburana Brazilian oak barrels given a heavy toast and #4 char.

Tasting: The aroma opens with vanilla, toasted walnut, caramel, and cherry, leading into a richly spiced palate of ginger snaps, stone fruit, cinnamon, mint, caramelized sugar, and subtle wine-like notes. The exotic Amburana oak makes its presence unmistakable, building toward an earthy, lingering finish accented by leather, nutmeg, baking spice, and tobacco leaf.

Serving: Given its rarity, age, and 125.4-proof cask-strength presentation, this bourbon is best explored neat in a quality whiskey glass. A few drops of water can soften the proof and reveal additional fruit, caramel, and aromatic spice while preserving the distinctive influence of the Brazilian oak.

Finish: Rabbit Hole Amburana Founder’s Collection is an adventurous luxury bourbon that pairs substantial Kentucky maturation with one of whiskey’s most expressive finishing woods. Its combination of mature bourbon, exotic Amburana spice, cask strength, and individually numbered presentation makes this 750ML release particularly compelling for collectors and enthusiasts seeking something well outside the traditional bourbon profile.
