Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label is the signature non-vintage Champagne of the historic Reims-based house, recognized for its Pinot Noir-led blend and consistent balance of richness and freshness. The cuvée draws on an extensive collection of reserve wines to maintain its distinctive character, combining ripe orchard fruit, subtle toasty complexity and the structure that makes it equally suited to celebrations and the table.
Blend: Approximately 50% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay and 20% Meunier, with proportions varying slightly by release.
Tasting Notes: Golden apple, ripe pear and white peach are complemented by brioche, toasted almond and delicate floral notes. The palate is generous yet lively, with fine bubbles, a creamy texture and refreshing acidity carrying the fruit through a balanced, gently toasty finish.
Structure: Medium-bodied and vinous, with Pinot Noir providing breadth and structure, Chardonnay contributing freshness and precision, and Meunier lending supple fruit. The mousse is fine and persistent, balancing the wine’s generous character with a clean, energetic finish.
Drink Window: Now–2029. Yellow Label is blended for enjoyment upon release, when its fruit, freshness and subtle autolytic complexity are in balance. Additional short-term cellaring is possible, although extended aging is not necessary.
Decanting: Serve around 46–50°F in a tulip-shaped Champagne or white-wine glass to appreciate its aromatic complexity and texture.
Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label remains a dependable choice for celebrations, entertaining and gifting, offering a recognizable house style with enough substance to accompany a meal. Equally comfortable as an aperitif or alongside smoked salmon, shellfish, roast chicken and aged cheeses, it brings versatility and a polished Champagne character to a wide range of occasions.
