95 Points – Vinous
Bonneau du Martray is one of the historic reference estates of Corton-Charlemagne, with holdings concentrated on the celebrated hill of Corton in the Côte de Beaune. The 2015 vintage is notably rich and concentrated for the domaine, yet it retains the mineral tension, citrus freshness and stony precision that define serious Corton-Charlemagne.
Blend: 100% Chardonnay.
Tasting Notes: Layered aromas of lemon oil, white peach, quince and ripe apricot unfold with white flowers, hazelnut, subtle spice and struck-flint minerality. The palate is broad and silky but remains energetic, with citrus, stone fruit and savory mineral notes carried by a firm chalky structure into a long, saline finish.
Structure: Powerful and concentrated, with excellent mineral tension, firm acidity and substantial aging potential.
Drink Window: Drink now through 2035. Antonio Galloni’s 2025 Vinous review described the wine as still youthful at ten years of age, with notable tension and energy, supporting continued development over the coming decade.
Decanting: Decant for approximately 30–60 minutes if opened now, particularly if the wine is cool or initially restrained. Serve around 52–55°F in a generous Burgundy glass to allow its citrus, nutty and mineral complexity to emerge.
The 2015 Bonneau du Martray Corton-Charlemagne is a compelling bottle for the collector who values mature Grand Cru white Burgundy with both richness and precision. Its combination of depth, mineral authority and developing secondary complexity makes it especially well suited to lobster, turbot, roast poultry or an important dinner, while well-stored bottles should continue to reward patient cellaring.
