Caiarossa is a distinctive Tuscan estate based near Riparbella, producing expressive IGT wines from a broad mix of Tuscan and international varieties. The 2017 vintage is a ripe, structured expression of the estate’s biodynamic approach, showing dark-fruited depth, savory complexity, and the layered character that defines modern coastal Tuscany.

Blend: Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Sangiovese, Petit Verdot, and Alicante Bouschet.

Tasting Notes: Aromas of dark berries, cassis, blueberry, plum, graphite, tobacco, dried herbs, licorice, and dark chocolate. The palate is concentrated yet composed, with ripe black fruit, earthy Tuscan spice, fine mineral undertones, and firm tannins carrying through a savory, persistent finish.

Structure: Full-bodied, structured, and age-worthy, with ripe fruit balanced by firm tannic grip and earthy complexity.

Drink Window: 2023–2035.

Decanting: Decant for 1–2 hours when serving now to soften the tannins and allow the darker fruit, tobacco, and spice notes to open. Serve slightly below room temperature in large Bordeaux stems.
